Background
Pelly is a lightweight note-taking app built for users who want a fast, minimal, and distraction-free way to jot down thoughts. Most note apps either feel too heavy or require cloud accounts, sync systems, or sign-ins. Pelly was designed to eliminate all of that and give users a simple space to write and store notes instantly.
Core problem
Many existing note-taking tools are overloaded with features that slow down performance and clutter the interface. Users looking for a quick, frictionless way to capture ideas often end up overwhelmed by unnecessary options. Additionally, apps that rely on external servers raise privacy concerns. There was a clear need for a note app that was fast, private, and effortless.
The Process behind Pelly
The focus was to create an intuitive, clean note-taking experience powered entirely by the browser. By leveraging local storage, Pelly ensures users’ notes stay on their device—secure, private, and accessible even without an internet connection. The goal was to keep the interface minimal and the performance extremely lightweight.
Steps Taken
Minimal, Distraction-Free Layout: I designed a clean UI so users can focus solely on writing. No unnecessary menus, tabs, or complex navigation—just pure note-taking.
Local Storage Integration: Instead of storing notes on a server, Pelly saves everything directly to the user’s browser. This ensures instant load times, privacy, and complete offline access.
Fast, Lightweight Performance: Pelly was built to be extremely lightweight, ensuring near-zero load times and smooth interaction even on low-power devices.
Simple Note Management: Users can create, view, and delete notes with ease. The workflow is intentionally straightforward, making Pelly ideal for quick thoughts, lists, or ideas on the go.
